Police Background check question?

I was let go from a dispach job about 8 years ago after a complaint from a citizen after I called 911 on him for a traffic offense when I was not working. I have obtained a college degree since the and had 6+ years of good work experience. Can I p a background check or will bad job expereicne years ago disqualify me? I have no arrests or criminal history. I got in two accidents and have had three traffic tickets. One ticket for seatbelt was 4 years ago and the other two were 10+ years ago.
