How can I stop my mom from bieng so paranoid?!?

This has gone on for weeks! my mom always encouraged me to get friends and hang out. So I meet this kid at school and I'm supposed to go bowling with him today for his birthday. She starts quizzing me about every aspect of his life. e.g. Whats his mothers maiden name, is his father an incarcerated ual predator, what middle school did he go to, does he have reptiles at his house? if so, how many, Is his mother a housewife. So I get my dad to help me get her to shut up, and she says and she says " I should be applauded for asking these questions, he could have a poison dart frog at his house and you could die!" PLEASE! she wont even let me use a public restroom or take showers in my own house without her standing in front of the door. this has gone on all 17 years of my life and I want it to stop!
