What is the correct way to walk in a pair of stiletto pumps shoes ?

I've bought an pair of stiletto pumps that has a heel kind of like a stiletto but they are not that thin, they are a little thicker than a stiletto heel. The shoes that i bought are about 3 1/2 inches high and they are really beautiful pumps. Recently, i've realized the shoes now have a gap between the heel and where the heel is connected to the shoes. I've been told that i've probably putted too much pressure on the heels because of the way i walked. How do you walk correctly in a pair of beautiful pumps ? I'm a beginner cross dresser so i have no clue of how to walk in those shoes ? Could anyone tell me how do i walk correctly in a pair of pumps ? I don't want to damage my shoes because they are 4 weeks old and i love them.
